Of Feeding a Baby…

Posted by admin | Web Health Wellness, Web Tips | Sunday 17 May 2009 1:40 pm

Feeding time for babies sounds like it’s all gurgles and baby burps and oh-so-cute chin drips. That’s the dream scenario. There’s also the nightmare scenario.

DO’s

* Discard unfinished meals. Don’t save it for another time as bacteria can form.

* Learn to read your baby’s signals and be patient with him/her. If he/she is upset, calm him/her before feeding him/her. Trying to feed a cranky baby may lead him to have a tummy-ache. If he soils his diaper during feedtime, change it, wash your hands well, and only then resume feeding.

* Read labels and checks the ingredient list, storage and serving instructions for baby food.

DONT’s

* Feedd honey to babies under age of one. They may contract infant botulism.

* Put your baby to bed with a bottle in his mouth. This can promote ‘bottle caries’.

* Feed cereals/other solid foods through a bottle or feed him if he is in a reclining position: he may gag or choke.

* Season baby food. Babies don’t need added salt or sugar.

* Force-feed your baby. To begin solid foods, start with one or two spoonful and let your baby be the judge of how much he/she wants to eat.

So, as for mother out there who are taking best diet pills right after pregnancy I encourage you to consult your doctors first before taking such medicine so that your baby will not inhibit any serious sickness. Remember, feeding your baby through breast feeding is the best and healthier option you can have for them. So, watch out on your food intake.

Imminent death, if safety precautions are not taking care of it, in particular for children since they like splashing water very much and children cannot resist the pleasure of being in the water.

  1. Learn how to swim.
  2. Swim in areas supervised by a Lifeguard.
  3. Read and obey all rules and posted signs.
  4. Watch out for the dangerous “too’s”- too tired, too cold, too far from safety, too much sun, too much strenuous activity.
  5. Set water safety rules for the whole family based on swimming abilities.
  6. Be knowledgeable of the water environment you are in and its potential hazards, such as deep and shallow area, currents, depth charges, obstructions and where the entry and exit points are located. The more informed you are, the more aware you will be of hazards and safe practices.
  7. Don’t be tempted to leave your kid alone in the sea or by the pool, even for a short time.
  8. Train your child in survival skills such as floating or treading in the water.
  9. Ensure your kids are constantly supervised when in the water, even if they can swim like fish!
  10. Discourage children from jumping in to help another. This often results in a double tragedy. Teach them to throw to the victim something that floats or a long object to hold on to. Get them call an adult for help. Teach simple rescue methods and First Aid.

Tips to establish a good study habits for your son.

Posted by admin | Web Education, Web Tips | Friday 6 March 2009 12:26 pm

It can be quite a struggle to get your kids to a study every day after school. But homework is a fact of life for school-age children. As parents, one should aim to make learning at home, and not a burden.

Mostly, parents require their children to do homework after school but children are already tired and stressed during this time. Studying right after they arrive home will no longer be effective, they need to take a few minutes to relax, eat, change clothes and get organized.
Good study habits should already be formed at the start of the school year.

Here’s how:

Establish a routine that your child can follow. Study time should take place at the same time every day, so that he’ll learn how to schedule his activities. This also gives him a sense of control over how he spends his time.

Make him study in blocks of time, with breaks in between. No matter how short, breaks can be very relaxing and invigorating. It can also help him get back into the mood. Plan the schedule with your child.

Turn off the TV Homework must be finished before watching TV, with no exceptions.

Pick a good place The study area should be away from distractions, with a table and chair, good lighting, and comfortable temperature. To keep your child from having to get up every few minutes, the area should already have books, notebooks, and paper and other supplies in place.

Be advance Have your child study his notes as if he’ll be having a quiz the next day (even there won’t be any). This will help condition his mind, and increase memory retention. Once he develops this habit, he will find it easy to prepare for succeeding lessons.

Spend time with your kids The input we give during study periods will help form a bond, and hopefully make studying more enjoyable. Offer lots of encouragement; for sure, your child will love the attention – and the fun!

That’s it! Hope this study tips will help your son/daughter to establish a good study habits. That’s all for now ’cause I still have to check this disability insurance for my Granny ( my Dad’s Mom ). Have a safe week everyone!
