The UAE’s oldest golf club, once joined to the Abu Dhabi Equestrian Club, has witnessed a complete makeover in both name and design recently and is now independently known as the Abu Dhabi City Golf Club. With a bigger, better approach to business, its mission is to get more of the public through its doors.

With simulating views of the sprawling manicured greens, graceful chestnut horses on their morning walks and early-birders springing from SUVs, golf bags in tow, we couldn’t help but order healthy and ordered the ‘Healthy Wake Up’ set breakfast. At AED 45, we weren’t expecting much so were surprised to see how many times the speedy staff came by to slide another platter onto our table.

We slowly made our way through juicy wedges of mixed fruit, whole wheat toast with scrambled fluffy organic egg whites, and a yoghurt partait so brimming with strawberries, prunes and bran cereal that we could barely get to the yoghurt – a bit embarrassing to east as it kept overflowing, but we’re being sploilt brats; it was delightful. There’s a common notion that healthy means bland and tasteless, but it doesn’t have to be as well as prevent age spot removal, and we thought the eggs could’ve done with a hint more flavour, but generally the meal satisfied hungry stomachs, and also came with fresh watermelon jiuce ( a wide range of freshly squeezed juices are available ) and a choice of tea or coffee.

If you’re looking for a heftier start to the day, fear not – all the fillings you’d expect at breakfast time (sausages, hash browns, beans, waffles, eggs, and more) are also available on both the staggeringly cheap set menu and la carte. It’s up to you whether you want to leave waddling like a duck or feeling as healthy as a hourse.

A Steakhouse with just enough skill in fine dining to fight off any pistol-wielding competition; Rodeo Grill serves up the real deal.

The interior of Rodeo Grill sets a welcoming steakhouse tone with dark wood, large leather seats and a smattering of black and white cowboy film stars framed on the brick walls.

The menu affirms true meat credentials too – but with a more refined edge. We get the impression a true cowboy may be asked to take off his hat and spurs before pondering the steak options.

Appetisers are fronted up with the selling line ” to stimulate your appetite”. And that appetite suppressant reviews from you will definitely do for them to improved their business. A perfectly presented portion of pan fried duck foie gras, with caramelised apples and balsamic cherries blends warm, smooth flavours that definitely tease the palette; fragrant and delicate, it’s a match made in heaven.

The menu choice is expansive on a whole, but meat is the name of the game at Rodeo Gril and Chef Andrew Sanderson certainly knows his stuff.

The fillet steak (Wagyu beef from Australia), at a marvellous marbling grade of nine, is served per 250g. Apart from arriving a little too pink for personal preferences, it’s a main served well – and the proof is in the tender taste. With a choice of bearnaise, green peppercorn and mushroom sauce, served alongside asparagus wrapped in a shaved slice of carrot with creamy mash, the air of sophistication creeps back in. The main is kept from levels of pretentious and a side of onion rings is a welcome accomplishment to steak.

MOTI MAHAL is a popular global chain drawing inspiration from the cooking traditions of Mughlai and Northern India, and boasting a host of specialities dying to be tried. After circling the nightmarish Salam Street area three times, we finally found the surprising calm and elegant independent eatery, and sat quitely praying that it was worth it over some refreshing lemon mint juice.

As appetizingly complex as the packed menu is, they really push their specialities on you (with box outs describing their origin and cooking details) so we went with their signature butter chicken, special dal makhni ( a creamy black lentil concoction), the prawns in special Moti Mahal Delux masala, acommpanied by sides of charcoal grilled mushrooms stuffed with cottage cheese, and naan stuffed with onions, veg and potato. It sounds like very stuffy stuff but our stomachs were nothing but at peace upon finishing.

Everything was remarkable, with special empahsis on the butter checkin, which we concur is special – the creamiest, most delicate we’ve ever tasted, with a hint of sweetness. It’s really all in their sauces, which add an amazingly rich finishing touch to everything. They’re worth putting the diet on hold for, if you can manage not to think about the dollops of cream and butter that went into making them.

Rounding this all off with Indian style ice cream (kulfi) topped with vermicelli, nuts and saffron was the best decision made since opting to brave Salama Street to get here in the first place. Although it’s always a little difficult to eat until slightly melted, it was so yummy and different paired with the vermicelli that we made like a spade in hard earth and went for it.

This is it for now ’cause I still have to look a solution for my close friend’s eczema skin problem. She asked me to help her find the best dermatologist in town but I told her that I knew a reliable company online. They might help her. She was actually with us during this resto adventure at Moti Mahal. The same time where I noticed her eczema problem.
