Tech Info’s: The Missing Link…

Posted by admin | Web Electronics, Web Finds, Web Technology | Monday 22 December 2008 1:52 pm

There are groups of researchers at the Hewlett-Packard facilities announced that they have developed a new circuit element that is alleged to imitate some of the human biological functions. According to the report, the new device is called a memristor and will account for smaller and more rapid computers in the near future.

Basically, this can be used in high-density computer memory chips that would draw smaller amounts of power as compared to the existing DRAM semiconductors. A memristor is an electrical resistor with memory properties that comes with additional logic capabilities, which makes it extremely suitable for reprogrammable chips.

This Memristors are built from tiny particles of titanium dioxide that act like nano-switches. Worldwide researchers have been struggling to achieve molecule-sized titanium switches for more than 10 years now, in order to find a suitable replacement for the existing transistors. The technology comes at a time when transistors are close to reaching their miniaturization limits imposed by the photolithographic techniques.

The new circuit element will consume less power as compared to the already existing CPU and memory technologies and, at the same time, it will allow manufacturers to create smaller chips with a longer lifespan. Okay! That’s it for now ’cause I still have to find a great offers on xbox 360 for my Nephew as my Christmas gift for him. Hopefully, I’ll find one. Have a great day everyone!

Computer Tricks: Simple start up tweak!…

Here are some routines that even the greenest beginner can do that go a long way towards getting the most out of your PC and possibly prevent some problems from occurring. Just follow this simple instruction!
INSTRUCTION:

Right click on “My computer” click on properties, Then right click on “C” Drive (root or system drive), click on “Advanced” Tab, Click on “Settings” button below “Startup and Recovery”, There is one simple setting here you can change to shave 10 to 30 seconds off your boot up time. “Time to display list of operating systems”. Option one is to drop the default second count from 30 to 10. This would only show that screen for 10 seconds or option two is to remove the check mark in the box and not show that screen at all. Make sure you click on the ok button at the bottom before exiting. Tweak complete!

Set you mind at ease guys while, today AMD is providing mainstream users – one of the largest segments of the market – with superior graphics products and performance at previously unheard of prices. The success of this ATI Radeon™ HD 4000 series validates that AMD’s shift away from the traditional means of producing large, hot, monolithic graphics chip continues to be a successful strategy AMD continues to execute against its timelines and deliver leading graphics performance at every price point.
This new ATI Radeon HD 4670 and ATI Radeon HD 4650 graphics cards feature the company’s TeraScale graphics engine, and deliver 320 stream processing cores, based on AMD’s advanced second-generation 55nm process technology. The cards ensure a minimum power draw, with the Radeon HD 4670 capable of working at under 60W, while the HD 4650 card operates at 50W under full load.

Health Awareness: Modern medical implants…

Using a 64-bit key which is generated by using each patient’s heartbeat, comes the solution to wireless communication between the modern medical implants and maintenance/monitoring devices was develop.

Modern medical implants significantly reduce the need for follow-up surgical interventions. Many such implants are used to regulate vital functions, and can be monitored, updated or controlled remotely via a wireless connection. Regardless of how weird it might sound, hacking such implants is theoretically possible since their connection is just as vulnerable as the connection between other wireless devices. This heartbeat-based encryption is not easy to crack because of the constantly changing nature of the heartbeat, which makes it impossible to replicate by using an older record.

One measurement is taken by the implant itself and one is taken at the same time from the patient’s index finger. The interval between 16 successive heartbeats is used to generate a calibrated 64-bit key. Successful communication between the implants and the external devices is possible only when the keys generated using the two measurements match to a great degree. Hmm.. just a wonderful technology for the medical people. Okay! That’s it for now ’cause I still have to check to this Nikon rifle scopes that I happened to browse earlier. This might be an interesting thing too! Have a great day everyone!
