Autralia’s Dynamic culinary duo of Greg Doyle and Grant King are on their way to Abu Dhabi for next month’s Gourmet Abu Dhabi. The two chefs, who began working together in the hospitality industry as youngsters, have won international recognition and a multitude of awards for their Pier restaurant in Sydney.

Recent accolades include a place in the San Pellegrino 2009 Best 100 Restaurants of the World guide, the prestigious National Restaurants of the year award from Australian Gourmet Traveller magazine.

“Given Arabia’s penchant for sea food which our water rich in, the culinary prowess of these two highly-acclaimed master chefs is bound to be a spectacular draw.

“It’s a great opportunity for the growing Australian community in the UAE to relive the cuisine of their celebrated commercial capital and a chance for those who have not yet been fortunate enough to visit that great waterfront city to savor the gourmet expertise of Sydney which was inspired numerous award-winning fusion cuisines.

Doyle and King will be serving up seafood sensations and foods that burn fat at the award winning Finz restaurant at the Beach Rotana Abu Dhabi. “We feel like we are getting a double bonus, ” said Patrick Bischoff, Executive Chef of the Beach Rotana. “Everyone is eager to pick up additional knowledge and also, perhaps, hope to pass on some of our won. Best Songs of 2009

Posted by admin | Web Finds | Monday 18 January 2010 3:53 pm

“Boom Boom Pow” - Black Eyed Peas

Yes I have to admit, I I got the feelings this year with Black Eyed Peas. I played it while getting dressed to go out, while waiting for the weekend - in house parties and in all the clubs! The songs has also been included in the Guinness book of records for being played during the biggest flash mob assembly in the world on the Oprah Show in Chicago.

“Poker Face” - Lady Gaga

This song has achieved worldwide success by reaching number one on more than 17 countries including the USA, UK and AUSTRALIA. Despite her mind-numbing-over-the-top sense of style which was like a very disturbing adult acne that we commonly see on teenage boys, Lady Gaga with her pop/electronic song has brought an innovative rhythm to the music world and we are all gaga for her, no doubt!

“Human” - The Killers

This band not only rocked Abu Dhabi in concert but also the world music charts with this amazing track. A wonderful sublime rock song, catchy as everything they have churned out in the past few years can be described as a beautiful melody wrapped in a driven dance beat and paired with remarkable lyrics. Try and top that!

This were some of the best songs I had for the past year of 2009!

Work Guide in the Office!

Posted by admin | Useful Information, Web Discussion, Web Finds, Web Tips | Monday 18 January 2010 3:37 pm

Politics in the office is commonplace. Shying away from it is not a solution to the problem. Neither is giving in to it by becoming a pawn on some CEO’s chessboard. This month Tempo gives you a strategy to ace the game. So, roll up your sleeves, it’s about to get messy!

TOOT AWAY!

Don’t be afraid to toot your own horn. If no one knows of your good works, you may lose at the game of office politics - when you really deserve to win. Let others know what you’ve accomplished whenever you get the opportunity.

RESPECT

Don’t show preferential treatment or treat co-workers badly. You never know who someone might be connected to and  rude behavoir may come back to bite you.

ZERO ALLIANCES

While an alliance may be powerful for the moment, bridging across factions may be a more effective strategy for long-term success if you intend to stay in your current organization for some time.

PERSUADE

Develop an assertive style, backed with solid facts and examples, to focus others’ attention on your ideas and proposals. Good politicians can adjust their messages for their audience and are always well-prepared.

This more some of the tactics you need to know if politics on the office arises. You need to be more flexible as much as possible in order to deal with those high spirit co-workers who are trying to full you down. Make sure that your on your presence of mind as you talk to them. Be nice as much as possible as you can. Hopefully this article help you guys as it helps me too. Ops! I almost forgot! Don’t forget to take your natural weight loss supplement too if you are on your usual diet. This will help you feel relax and at ease. Break a leg everyone!

Al Dhafra Festival 2010

Posted by admin | Web Travel | Monday 18 January 2010 3:19 pm

The Abu Dhabi Authority for Culture and Heritage (ADACH) is organizing ” Al Dhafra Festival 2010 “, a world-renowned cultural event focusing on camels, which runs from January 30 until February 8, 2010 in Madenat Zayed in Al Gharbia (The Western Region).

Al Dhafra Festival, which typically attracts thousands of locals and tourist to many of the events, will include many important events such as the traditional market, competitions on poetry, dates, and photography and many new heritage events that will be announced later.

The Organizing Committee announced the launch of new contest for the first time at the Dhafra Festival called “Al-Hallab”. This new contest seeks to choose the camel that produces the most milk. The competition seeks to attract attention to this category in camel breading and encourage camel owners to acquire ‘milky’ camles, especially as these camels have been offering a great economic value for centuries.

So, if you guys are planning to visit UAE, specifically Al Dhafra better grab the chance to witness the contest they had for you too experience the life of Arab people whom I could say that they are very nationalistic and family centered. Aside from that, this festival will open up your knowing that camel is indeed one of the great creation of God. Okay! That all for now ’cause I still have to look a hemorrhoids pain relief as my friend is asking me lately if I could help him find one to cure the said pain he do have. Enjoy the festival everyone!
