Of Feeding a Baby…

Feeding time for babies sounds like it’s all gurgles and baby burps and oh-so-cute chin drips. That’s the dream scenario. There’s also the nightmare scenario.

DO’s

* Discard unfinished meals. Don’t save it for another time as bacteria can form.

* Learn to read your baby’s signals and be patient with him/her. If he/she is upset, calm him/her before feeding him/her. Trying to feed a cranky baby may lead him to have a tummy-ache. If he soils his diaper during feedtime, change it, wash your hands well, and only then resume feeding.

* Read labels and checks the ingredient list, storage and serving instructions for baby food.

DONT’s

* Feedd honey to babies under age of one. They may contract infant botulism.

* Put your baby to bed with a bottle in his mouth. This can promote ‘bottle caries’.

* Feed cereals/other solid foods through a bottle or feed him if he is in a reclining position: he may gag or choke.

* Season baby food. Babies don’t need added salt or sugar.

* Force-feed your baby. To begin solid foods, start with one or two spoonful and let your baby be the judge of how much he/she wants to eat.

So, as for mother out there who are taking best diet pills right after pregnancy I encourage you to consult your doctors first before taking such medicine so that your baby will not inhibit any serious sickness. Remember, feeding your baby through breast feeding is the best and healthier option you can have for them. So, watch out on your food intake.
